CMS should be able to manage the use of multiple credit cards for a customer
It would be handy to have a way to manage multiple credit cards in CMS. An example of why you would want to do this:
Say you have a customer that is paying for a subscription on one credit card, but do most of there other purchasing on another card. It would be handy if CMS had a way to not only tell that this is happening, but to have intuitive way to manage it as well.
Two issues at hand here:
1) The ability for CMS to store/recall multiple credit card numbers for a customer
2) Storing or flagging a credit card for use on subscription orders
This request will focus on #1. The second issue is dependent on #2 but is also dependent on CMS making the distinction between types of orders (e.g. there is no such thing technically as a subscription order, as far as CMS is concerned currently.)
We've been looking at Authorize.net's CIM solution which allows for tokenized payments to be stored with a customer record. This would fit the bill and do so without increasing your PCI vulnerability...but would require Authorize.net, for better or worse.
This is needed. As a company that is dealing with this very scenario, we find ourselves having to manually keep a book of customers credit cards (under lock and key, obviously) that wish to use a different credit card for an ongoing subscription. having this option would be a big help with security and order processing. Per my conversation with Luke, using a credit card token system to not actually store the credit card would be the best way to move forward with this. This would also allow normal order processing personnel to handle the subscriptions, rather than only 1 designated person with access to the book.
